How to Create a Therapeutic Garden Activity Program SESSION IS FULL

Learn how to create a therapeutic garden activity program to achieve goals and improve wellness and quality of life for children and adults you serve. Whether you are a healthcare or human services professional, educator, volunteer or caregiver, you'll gain beneficial hands-on information regarding the best methods and activities to use to enhance a person's abilities. Valuable reference materials will be provided.

Participants will:


  • Obtain an overview of horticultural therapy practices and profession.

  • Learn the steps to create, fund, staff and maintain a successful program.

  • Acquire hands-on knowledge of how to create a seasonal calendar of garden activities based on therapeutic/educational goals.

  • Gain an overview of essential garden design elements.

The session offers a combination of lecture, discussion and hands-on experiences. Space is limited. Please register early!

Who Should Attend
Activity professionals, occupational and recreational therapists, social workers, special education teachers/educators, master gardener and garden club volunteers, youth group leaders.

Session Information
Materials and supplies are included in the fee. Also included: coffee, tea and light snacks. Bring your own brown bag lunch.

Cancellation Policy: READ CAREFULLY
Once payment is received, you are considered enrolled unless notified otherwise. No cash refunds are given. Participants who are unable to attend the course will be given credit toward future workshops/courses provided by Gardening for Good. Please provide written notice that you can't attend immediately via email: thumbsup@gardening4good.org so that we may fill the space from those on waiting list. Full credit will be given if we are contacted by April 17, 2009. Requests for credit after this deadline will be granted minus a $15 processing/materials fee. Credits cannot be redeemed for cash.
